The rural handicrafts!

For many years crafts have played an important rule for the South Tirol farms.
During the cold winter months families were used to spend togehter many hours of their manual work in the warmer spaces of their house.

This tradition, which has been brought ahaed with deep interest and passed on to new generations with love, has unfortunately decreased in the years.

In the past were mainly the small farmers who started a business to balance the accounts.

Tailors and shoe repairers were used to often go from house to house to do their work. Quite frequently tailors have spent periods of time at families to make for them dresses and suits.
They were fed for the entire period of their staying and given cereals, bread and milk as remuneration.

The farmers also made things for the daily use such as small baskets, rakes, plates, etc.

Women spent their time in sewing, knitting dresses and socks for the family.

What in the past has been an extra job for the farmers, it has now become a tradition beloved so much to keep on going.

Many are the farms where real „work of art“ are made and where each handcrafted piece is a
„UNIQUE“ piece of art.

There are no limits to wealth of ideas!

Many are the quests who during their staying at farms in South Tirol have the opportunity to find some of these „treasures“ and bring them home as souvenir!
