Hiking in a World Heritage Site
In August 2009, the Dolomites have been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Untouched nature, fresh mountain air and a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountain landscape make this place a unique experience for mountain lovers and families. - The summit of Corno del Renon/Rittner Horn, 2,260 metres (reachable by a journey on the cable car from Pemmern to the Schwarzseespitze and than an easy walk of about an hour, great view with 360 degree panorama)

Things to see and to do

- Stalagmites in the open air: Discover the best-known and most beautiful earth pyramids.
- Scenic railway “Rittnerbahn”: The train journey between Soprabolzano/Oberbozen and Collalbo/Klobenstein, through wide meadows and fields, with views of mountain farms and glimpses of the beautiful Dolomites, is a breathtaking experience.
- The cable car that connects Soprabolzano/Oberbozen and Bolzano/Bozen is the perfect way to go to the city for shopping.
- Many tracks and a cable car lead on the mountain Corno del Renon/Rittnerhorn, where no peak interrupts the view through the 360 degree panorama which opens around one.
- The ski resort Corno del Renon/Rittnerhorn is small but gorgeous, perfect for families.
- How is honey produced? Why do bees sting? How important is the Queen? The bee museum in Costalovara/Wolfsgruben delves into these and other questions and answers them in a fun way
- The commendam of Longomoso/Lengmoos was established as a hospice for weary travellers. Today there are concerts, exhibitions, symposia and lectures
- Since 1973 there have been theatrical performances in the commendam, performed in the court in the open air
